FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKRN)- Kentucky now has 26 confirmed  cases of the COVID-19 virus.

A 66-year-old man from Bourbon County, Ky. marked the first coronavirus related death in Kentucky.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear issued an order to close restaurants and bars to in-person services and having carry-out, delivery and drive-thru services only.

Additionally all community and recreation centers, gyms and exercise facilities, hair salons, nail salons, spas, convert venues, theaters and sporting event facilities have been ordered to closed by 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 18.

The Kentucky Derby is being postponed from May to September because of growing concern about the coronavirus pandemic.

Churchill Downs postponed the Derby from May 2 to Sept. 5, marking the first time in 75 years that the race won’t be run on the first Saturday in May.

A formal announcement was made Tuesday, March 17.
