MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – Both suspects have been apprehended after the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) assisted Oak Grove Police Department with a vehicle pursuit that ended in the county Tuesday, according to Jamie Dexter, Interim PIO for MCSO.
Oak Grove police had been pursuing the men for burglary, who then fired shots at the officers.
The vehicle pursuit ended shortly after midnight behind a home on Guthrie Highway. Around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 24, deputies found James Lark, 27, who gave a Nashville address. He faces a public intoxication charge here and is being held in the Montgomery County Jail awaiting extradition.
Around 11:30 a.m., a deputy patrolling the area spotted the second suspect in a field and took him into custody. Branden Lane, 23, of Nashville was taken to Gateway Medical Center to be treated for being outside in the cold temperatures all night and was later booked into the Montgomery County Jail. He awaits extradition.
