Kenneth Paul Gossett, age 83, of Clarksville, TN departed this life August 29, 2023 at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center in Clinton, TN.
Kenneth was born August 2, 1940 in Davidson County, TN the son of the late William Wallace and Pearl Mable Pendergrass Gossett. He was preceded in death by his only brother, Donald Wallace Gossett.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Morris Gossett; one son, Paul Anthony (Jamie Joy Chadwell) Gossett; one grandson, Gillen Paul Gossett; nephews, Dewayne (Candice) Gossett and Jonathan Gossett; along with several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Gossett was employed by Sears for thirty years, and retired as the Clarksville store’s Assistant Manager. Over the course of thirty-two years, he also served as pulpit minister for Chapel Hill Church of Christ, Dotsonville Church of Christ, Bumpus Mills Church of Christ, and Curlee Church of Christ. His favorite pastime was gardening, particularly growing and hybridizing many varieties of daylilies. He was a member of the Middle Tennessee Daylily Society for a number of years.
A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held at Hilldale Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, with Dr. Sellers Crain Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Family Cemetery in the Sycamore Community near Ashland City, TN at 2:00 p.m. with Carl Sims as the officiant. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be various Elders of congregations where he served.
