HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Join thousands of visitors in downtown Hopkinsville this month for the sixth annual Summer Salute festival, which will feature a concert by KC and the Sunshine Band.

The two-day live entertainment music festival, which includes a Kids Zone for children, plus food and merchant vendors, has won the IFEA’s prestigious Pinnacle Award as best festival event of its kind in the world.

The Jimmy Church Band headlines Friday night, 6 p.m.

The big headliner on Saturday night at 7 p.m. will be KC and The Sunshine Band, with a long list of disco and funk hits like “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” “I’m Your Boogie Man” and “That’s the Way (I Like It).”

The festival runs Friday, Aug. 26, to Saturday, Aug. 27, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is free for visitors, with separate fees for food and vendors. For the full schedule and more information, go to the Summer Salute website.
