Kay Glas Dixon, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Dogwood Bend Assisted Living.
Kay was born January 31, 1936, in Wehringen, Germany, to the late Johann Glas and Magdalena Schmid. She was also preceded by her husband, William Dixon; one daughter, Karen Lena Dixon; and four siblings, Maria Voss, Amalia Hartmann, Josef Glas, and Johann Glas.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by four sons, Bobby (Jennifer) Dixon, Ronnie (Brenda) Dixon, Jerry (Brenda) Dixon, and Billy (Jayne) Dixon; daughter, Sandy Dixon (Mark) Black; sister, Gertrude Glas Sappler; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Kay worked for the Leaf-Chronicle for over 25 years, where she achieved the Longevity Award and Best Carrier Award. She also volunteered at Cats R Us, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, at schools, and many others. Mrs. Dixon was a loving and kind mother, with an infectious smile, who knew no stranger.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m., at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday, February 3, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
