CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLE) – Three teenagers, 14, 16, and 17 have been charged with especially aggravated robbery after another 14 year old teenager was shot during a vape cartridge rip-off.
On Oct 26, arrangements were made with a 14 year old to purchase some vaping cartridges for $60.00. The 14 year old set up to meet with the three other teenagers down the street from his residence around 3:40 a.m. During the money exchange, a physical confrontation ensued which ended in a firearm being discharged and striking the 14 year old in the hip area.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt, treated, and released.
During the investigation, it was discovered the three teens, 14, 16, and 17 years old, had all traveled together in a vehicle to meet with the 14 year old for the vape cartridge purchase. It was determined that prior to the meeting, the teenagers purchasing the cartridges were aware that one of them was in possession of a firearm. Also, they were going to take the cartridges without paying.
The legally purchased firearm was taken from one of the teenager’s residence, unbeknownst to the parent.
With the assistance of Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the teenagers were identified, located, and taken in custody.
