“As Montgomery County’s Register of Deeds, I am proud of the work I have done to make this office more efficient, accessible and transparent for the people I serve. We have modernized operations, improved turnaround times, and strengthened the integrity of our public records. There is still more to do, and I look forward to continuing that progress,” said Runyon.

Runyon is a native of Cunningham. After graduating from Montgomery Central High School, she attended the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she received her bachelor’s degree in public administration with highest honors. She then graduated cum laude from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis.

She returned to Clarksville to practice law, focusing on real estate law for over 20 years. From residential transactions to multi-million-dollar commercial investment projects, she is experienced in all phases of the local real estate market. While assisting numerous individuals and companies from across the state of Tennessee, she worked with and utilized the services of the Register of Deeds office not only in Montgomery County, but across the state. As Register, Runyon has continued to work with Registers and county officials across the state, serving as vice president of the Middle Tennessee Register’s Association and serving as a board member for the County Officials of Tennessee.

Julie is married to Ray Runyon, with whom she has two children, Connor and Cailynn.
