A Celebration of Life service for Judy Carolyn Herald, age 75, will be Friday, November 18, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home with Bro. William Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Rye’s Chapel Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Billy “Joe” Herald. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Judy was born on October 26, 1947, in Clarksville, TN, to Vermont and Bessie Gaither. She loved being with her family, making people laugh, and reading.
In addition to her husband and parents, Judy is preceded in death by her brother, Doug Gaither, and sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Bobby Ellis. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Summer and Keven Schmidt; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Faye Gaither; grandchildren: Allison and her husband, Landon Pettit, Madison Schmidt, Gabrielle Schmidt, Canaan Schmidt, and the twins, Brady and Taelin Schmidt; and great-grandchildren: Ella, Nicholas, Oaklynn, and Bentley.
