CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Joshua Beal has announced he is running for re-election to the Montgomery County Commission in District 14.
Beal graduated with honors from Kenwood High School, has an Associate’s Degree in Business, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance, and has earned the designation of Certified Public Administrator from the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service. He is also graduate of Leadership CMCSS and Leadership Clarksville.
Beal serves on the Montgomery County Personnel Advisory Committee, EMS Committee, as chairman of the Beer Board, and as vice chair of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Action Agency. He has also served on the Jail and Juvenile Committee, School Board Liaison Committee and Purchasing Committee.
Outside of county government, Beal serves as vice president of Clarksville Citizens Police Academy, Advisory Board member at For All Tennessee, Youth Leadership Clarksville’s Law & Government Committee co-chair, Budget and Allocations Committee member at United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region, board member of Mt. Olive Cemetery Historical Preservation Society, and volunteer mentor for TN Achieves. He has also served as chairman and treasurer of Clarksville-Montgomery County Crime Stoppers, associate member of the FOP Two Rivers Lodge, Montgomery County Historical Society and Clarksville Young Professionals.
Beal stated he is committed to building a new Animal Control facility, creating a Juvenile Justice Center, constructing a branch library in North Clarksville, and working with the School Board to resolve overcapacity in our schools.
His main priorities will be to continue advocating for government transparency, accountability and fiscal responsibility; putting Montgomery County citizens first; and encouraging citizen involvement in all aspects of local government.
District 14 covers St. Bethlehem from the Red River to Interstate 24, along with portions of Needmore and Trenton Road.
