CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Joshua Beal is a candidate for Montgomery County Commissioner in District 14, according to a press release sent to the media this week.

Beal was born in northwest Ohio and moved to Clarksville in 1990 as a young child. He graduated with Honors from Kenwood High School in 2001. He has an Associate’s Degree in Business, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and is in the process of pursuing a Master of Science in Public Administration.

He operates a successful rental company in Clarksville and is a single father to Matthew, currently an 8th grader at Kenwood Middle School.

Beal describes himself as very active throughout the community and encourages everyone to do the same. He is a firm believer that everyone has a responsibility to be a productive member of the community.

He currently serves as chairman of Crime Stoppers of Clarksville-Montgomery County and as vice president of the Clarksville Citizens Police Academy. He is a graduate of Leadership CMCSS and currently part of 2018 Leadership Clarksville. He is also a member of the Montgomery County Historical Society, the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, Clarksville Young Professionals, the Montgomery County Foster Care Review Board, and an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police Two Rivers Lodge.

Joshua looks to accomplish many things as a County Commissioner. His main priorities are fiscal responsibility, schools, infrastructure, and government accountability.

“As I visit with folks throughout the district and the community, I find many of our conversations are going back to the same thing,” Beal said. “People feel their interests are not being represented, their concerns are not being addressed, and their elected officials are not reaching out to them. This will change when I am elected. It is time for us to get rid of the ‘good ole boy’ system that has run rampant for long enough in our local government.”
