Josephine Lois Parker, age 90, of Clarksville, TN, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Tennova Medical Facility.
Jo was born on August 5, 1933, in Clarksville, TN to the late John Henry Haley, Sr. and Susie Pierce. Jo is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Robert Parker, Jr.; stepmother, Rosie Haley; sisters, Louise Newcomb, Nancy Covington, and Dorothy Gibbs; brothers, John Henry Haley, Jr., Herman Haley, Cordell Haley, Shorty Haley, Sonny Wright, and Pete Wright; son in law, Terry Bryant.
Jo is survived by her son, Billy Joe Parker (Susie), daughter, Claudia Gail Bryant; sister, Mary Dowdy; grandchildren, Claudia (Joel) Mort, Cristin (Shawn) Jones, Jennifer (Terry) Chastain; great grandchildren, Addalynn Mort, Logan Chastain, Brynlynn Jones, and Bryant Jones.
Mama Jo (as known by most) continued to serve her community after her retirement from ACME Boot, through her membership at the First Church of the Nazarene where she shaped little hearts and minds in the nursery for 20 years. Mama Jo never met a stranger, and her sweet laughter could change a day. She is loved by many and will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Life in Mama Jo’s honor will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM and Monday, November 6th from 11:00 am- 1:00 PM at Neal Tarpley Parchman Funeral Home. Burial to follow directly after the service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Logan Chastain, Terry Chastain, Jeff Geary, Earl Snyder, Dan Mort, and Tony Batts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shawn Jones, Joel Mort, and Corey Holloway.
