CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Manna Café Ministries teams up with Clarksvillenow/5 Star Media Group and local businesses Saturday, Nov. 14 for Combat Hunger Day.
Volunteers will be stationed at local grocery stores from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to ask for donations for Manna Café Ministries. Food items and monetary donations will be accepted to help feed individuals and families in the community.
Manna Café distributes roughly 1.8 million pounds of food and 26,000 hot meals per year, and this is their biggest donation drive.
Food collection stations will be set up at all three Walmarts, all three Krogers, both Food Lions, GFS, Hilltop Market and Dollar General Market.
On-air talent from Q108, Beaver 100.3, Rewind 94.3, Z97.5, Sunny 99.1, and ESPN Clarksville will be stationed at the Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Walmart and Madison Street Kroger throughout the day.
This year’s goal is to collect 60,000 pounds of food from shoppers. Monetary donations are also crucial, and according to Manna, they can acquire four times more food with a dollar than a typical shopper can by purchasing from Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TN.
Volunteers are still needed. Visit Manna’s volunteer page to sign up.
