John William Moseley, Sr., age 66, of Cunningham, died Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Gateway Medical Center. He was born in Kingsport, TN, to Grace Cooper Moseley and the late Eldrege Eugene Moseley.
John was a professor at Austin Peay State University for 18 years. He was a part of several civic organizations, including the Special Olympics, Camp Rainbow, Bikers Who Care, and Buddy Ball. Mr. Moseley was also the recipient of the Harold Love Award in 2012.
Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 12 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with David Wesner, Tim Winters, and Mike Gotcher officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, and from noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jane Moseley; son, John William Moseley, Jr., of Nashville, TN; stepson, Mark Brandon (Jeri) Smith, of Woodlawn, TN; daughter, Michele Grace Moseley, of Clarksville; brother, Tommy (Betty Wise) Moseley, of Newland, NC; two grandchildren, Jacquline Smith and Rylee Moseley; and one great grandchild, Sayde Giles.
