John Roman Szczerbiak, 63, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, at his residence.
John was born on May 1, 1953, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Michael Szczerbiak and Maria Myca Szczerbiak. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Lynn Szczerbiak; brother, Joe Szczerbiak; and sister, Patricia Szczerbiak.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY, with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 12:00-6:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 11, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
John was a Retired U.S. Army Veteran. He also worked at Kroger as a Loss Prevention Associate.
John is survived by two sons, Sven (Jennifer) Szczerbiak and Ivan Szczerbiak of Clarksville, TN; two daughters, Nicole Ward of Clarksville, TN and Misha (Joshua) Hanzalik of Georgia; step-daughter, Alice (Hank) Tripp of New York; brother, Walter Szczerbiak; two sisters, Mary Szczerbiak and Diane Maxwell; seven grandchildren, Emily Ward, Elijah Ward, Cole Szczerbiak, Aria Hanzalik, Roman Hanzalik, Donja Tripp, and Duncan Tripp; and companion, Connie Winchester.
