CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Spring has returned to Montgomery County and that means that it’s time to gear up again for Relay for Life, the premier fundraising event of the American Cancer Society to fight the good fight against cancer.
Team Little John is inviting the community to take part in the first annual John R. Davis, Jr. (Little John) Memorial BBQ Fundraiser, set for Saturday, April 26 from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Now in its fourth year as an active Relay team, Team Little John is dedicated to the memory of John, who passed away after a lengthy battle with colon cancer on February 9, 2010. He was an avid supporter of Relay for Life of Montgomery County and participated in many Relay events with the East Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department. Team Little John strives to carry on his mission of giving back to the community.
Tickets are currently on sale for $8.00. This includes your choice of pulled pork or a half chicken, along with coleslaw, potato salad, and bread. Tickets will be sold through April 11.
Plates can be picked up at the East Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department on 212 McAdoo Creek Road from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on April 26. This is a carryout only event. Signs will be posted with directions to the venue.
Team Little John is committed to help “Finish the Fight”, which is also the slogan for this year’s Relay for Life event. The public can also attend Relay 2014 on May 16 from 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. at the Hilldale Family Life Center Soccer Field at 250 Old Farmers Road.
Contact Brittnye Farley at 931-220 1226 or John R. Davis, Sr. at 931-216-9512 to purchase tickets.
All proceeds benefit Relay for Life of Montgomery County.
