John Ogburn Jr., age 82 of Clarksville passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Gateway Medical Center.
Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015, with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Rossview Cemetery.
He was born August 2, 1932 in Clarksville, TN to the late John R. Ogburn, Sr and Willie Mae Rollins Ogburn. He was a member of of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and St. James Lodge #58. He was employed with Frosty Morn for 27 years and retired from Hampton Meats.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Theresa L. Combs and sisters Virginia O. Collier, Bessie O. Pace, Emma O. Killebrew and Rachel O. Stacker and brothers, Jesse Ogburn, Robert Ogburn and Rapheal Ogburn.
Survivors include his loving wife Geraldine P. Ogburn; daughters, Waulnetta(Frank) Dowlen, Cassandra O. Miller and Brenda D. Ogburn all of Clarksville, TN; son-in-law Darryl A. Combs; sister Elizabeth O. Braswell, Clarksville, TN; brothers Bobby James(Phyllis) Ogburn, Evansville, IN, Phillip Ogburn, Nashville, TN, Roger (Gracie) Ogburn and Gary Ogburn both of Clarksville, TN; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchilden and 1 great great grandchild and a host of family and friends.
