John (Jack) Henry Oliver, 77, of Clarksville, TN, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He was born in Adams, TN to the late James Herschel Oliver and Edith Louise Porter Oliver.
The funeral service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Jack Patterson and Pastor Cynthia Talley officiating. Burial was in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
John was a Retired Colonel with the U.S. Army. He served 25 years, where he served in the Vietnam Conflict as an infantry aviator.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue Oliver of Clarksville, TN; son, John (Christine) Oliver, Jr. of Lititz, PA; two daughters, Vicki (Carl) Davenport and Jacqui Suzanne Oliver of Clarksville, TN; brother, James Charles Oliver of Springfield, TN; sister, Jeannie (Ray) Burch of Irvine, CA; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Military served as pallbearers.
