A Celebration of Life service for John “Johnny” Franklin Shelton Jr., age 73 of La Vergne, TN will be Thursday, October 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service. Johnny passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020.
He was born on May 20, 1947, in Clarksville, TN to John Sr. and Mary Bagwell Shelton.
Johnny was a veteran of the United States Army where he received a Purple Heart for his service in the Vietnam War. He was retired from Lewis Bakeries and Middle TN Trailer Sales, Inc. Johnny loved UT football and antique cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Shirley Adkins, Dudley Shelton, and Ricky Shelton. He is survived by his son, J.J Shelton; daughter, Ann Marie Vogel; granddaughter Lindsey Vogel.
The pallbearers will be David Adkins, Leonard Adkins, Kenny Foster, Gary Vogel, Kevin Sloan, and Patrick Gibbs.
