John Stanley Covington, age 78, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare.

John was born October 5, 1937, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late Frank Stanley Covington and Nancy Haley Covington.

John was a US Air Force veteran, having served in Japan for three years. He was a mason and a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Covington was a member of both the Clarksville and Tennessee State Bowling Associations, in which he served as president and director. John managed Gardner Lanes, at Fort Campbell. He was an avid gardner.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, in Trenton, KY. Visitation will be Friday, March 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, and Saturday, March 26, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

John is survived by his wife, Linda Camp Covington; brother, Henry (Phyllis) Covington of Trenton, KY; four sisters, Martha Bourne of Clarksville, Nancy Thompson of Texas, Susie (Billy) Huff of Clarksville, and Teresa Broome of Oak Grove, KY; 27 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and beloved Yorkie, Bella.

Pallbearers will be Todd Covington, Shane Morris, Chris Loeffler, Kevin Loeffler, Ryan Loeffler, and Terry Huff.
