John Arnold Cobb, Jr. died peacefully at home on Friday, March 25 in Clarksville, TN at age 98.
John Arnold was born in Chattanooga and attended City High School. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Army and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean conflict. He earned a BS in Engineering from the University of Tennessee and an MBA from Drexel University where he also taught military science and statistics. After his army career, John Arnold managed several municipal utilities in Columbia, TN, Bristol, VA, and Rochester, MN and was an engineering consultant with R.W. Beck of Seattle, WA.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and two grandsons.
He was the quintessential Southern storyteller. His voice and wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will celebrate his life in June, and appreciates all the help and support they have received from friends and caregivers.
