CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Joey Dasinger has announced his candidacy for Montgomery County Commission in the new District 12.

Dasinger will be running as an independent candidate in the August 2022 election. He has been a resident of Montgomery County since 2013, along with his wife and three children.

He will be running his campaign under the platform of reducing taxes and spending, according to a news release, and said he hopes to promote an atmosphere of productive discourse.

“I am running because we need a County Commission that will rein in on spending beyond our means and increasing taxes to offset spending. We need a governing body that is willing to discuss ideas and hold themselves accountable to taxpayers,” Dasinger said.

The newly formed District 12 will be located in north Clarksville. Dasinger encourages residents to update their voter registration information, if necessary, as new voter registration cards will be sent out in the coming weeks.
