CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Jimmy Brown has announced a run for the the District 14 Montgomery County Commission seat.
Brown has lived in Montgomery County since 1989 and graduated from Montgomery Central High School. This is his first endeavor into the political field but he has worked for an elected official for 18 years. He currently works for the Sheriff of Montgomery County and has worked in traffic enforcement for the last 10 years.
“I have seen first hand the problems we have with traffic and would like to get in there and see what we can do to help get more of our tax dollars to help with the roads,” Brown said in a press release. “I currently have a child in the public school system here and want to make sure our children are getting the benefit of the money that the school system is being given. We also need to make sure our public safety personnel are given the tools they need to do the job and are compensated so that we do not keep losing them to other agencies around after we have invested in them.”
Brown is a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church and a graduate of the School of Police Staff and Command through Northwestern University. He is also am a graduate of Leadership Clarksville and has assisted with the law and government day for Youth Leadership Clarksville for the past three years.
