Jessie Iris Watts, age 91, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Dogwood Bend Assisted Living.

Jessie was born December 24, 1924, in Emmons, WV, to the late Charles D. Barker and Ethel Adkins Barker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald H. Watts; one daughter, Dawn Watts; four sisters, Ruth Martin, Ruby Barker, Kessel Curry, and Sue Salmons; and one great grandson, Jacob Klingman.

Mrs. Watts is survived by three daughters, Gaye (Frank) Klingman, Barbara (Kenneth) Coots, and Joyce (Steve) Vann; brother, Truman Barker; one sister, Julia Eskew; five grandchildren, Mike (Kim) Klingman, Matt (Gwen) Klingman, Sunny Rae Coots (Sean) Fox, Sarah Vann (Justin) Smith, and Lauren Vann (Josh) Moore; and nine great grandchildren, Gabrielle Klingman, Savannah Klingman, Isaac Klingman, Ellie Klingman, Sidney Catherine Fox, Mason Moore, Aiden Moore, Evelyn Moore, and Brooklyn Smith.

Jessie was a member of the Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing. She was on the volunteer board at Lorain Community Hospital, in Ohio, and she was a volunteer cook for the Northeastern Ohio Christian Youth Camp. Mrs. Watts was involved in community outreach, including helping her neighbors whenever they needed a hand. She was part of the Stepping Stones for the Ohio Valley Christian College, and was a gifted seamstress, who made wedding dresses for all three of her daughters’ weddings. After Ronald’s retirement, they went on mission trips to Jamaica, where she would serve in whatever way necessary.

Memorial service will be held at a later date, in Ohio.
