Hopkinsville, KY. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Jennie Stuart Medical Center (JSMC) in Hopkinsville announced its new affiliation with the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network and Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Jennie Stuart President & CEO, Eric Lee, made the announcement at a press conference at the medical center.
During the press conference, Lee emphasized that Jennie Stuart was not being bought out and called the plan a “mutual cooperation and affiliation agreement”. Jennie Stuart will remain a locally owned and operated medical center.
Lee also talked about what it would mean to patients at Jennie Stuart.
“It has to do with sharing ideas, taking advantage of the expertise that an entity like Vanderbilt has, but also taking advantage of this network of physicians and access to patients in Western Kentucky that Jennie Stuart can provide in strengthening the relationship of the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network,” Lee said.
Dr. Wright Pinson, CEO of Vanderbilt Health talked about the affiliation with Jennie Stuart Medical Center. “It’s exciting to be standing here today, because today is about two institutions that are coming together in ways to further benefit all those that we serve, our patients and our families,” said Pinson.
