Jeffrey Ray Slayden, 48, of Kansas, IL, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Ubana, IL.
He was born on October 13, 1964 in Clarksville, TN to Terry Ray Slayden and Martha Skaggs Slayden. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Slayden.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will be in Slayden Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. and Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Jeffrey was a farmer and member of Hilldale Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Slayden of Mt. Juliet, TN; son, Terry Christian Slayden of Paris, IL; step-son, Travis Grannan of Lewisville, TX; step-daughter, Nicole Richardson of Elsah, IL; sister, Mitzie Slayden of Mt. Juliet, TN; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Richardson, Laney Richardson, and Hendrick Grannan.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Vaughn, Eugene Barr, Eddie Loomis, Rick Grannan, Marshall Richardson, Greg Hester, and Jack Tucker.
