Clarksville, Tenn. — The Clarksville Area YMCA Kimbrough Family Center named Jeff Burkhart its 2013 Volunteer of the Year at the YMCA of Middle Tennessee Annual Celebration on April 22.
District Executive Director for the Clarksville Y O’Bee O’Bryant praised Burkhart for his service to the community.
“Jeff Burhart is committed to the mission of the YMCA,” O’Bryant said. “He has used his time, talents and resources to expand the reach of our services in the Clarksville area. His dedication brought dreams to life as we opened the North Clarksville YMCA in December of 2013. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we honor him for helping us make a second Clarksville Y a reality. It’s a beautiful facility in a wonderful location, and Jeff helped to make it possible.”
The YMCA of Middle Tennessee each year presents Volunteer of the Year awards to the top volunteers at each of its locations, honoring those who have given their time, talents and resources to advance the Y’s charitable mission.
“Whether it’s the caring adult who takes the time to mentor a youth sports participant, or the wellness coach who offers encouragement to a first-time exerciser or the donor who makes it possible for a family to afford a Y membership — every contribution made by our volunteers is important,” said YMCA of Middle Tennessee President and CEO Dan Dummermuth. “We are so grateful for our more than 2,800 volunteers, who led the way in 2013 to make a lasting and positive impact in their communities by being part of the Y. We couldn’t accomplish our mission without them.”
