Janice Lorraine Fletcher was born March 26, 1964, in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Lynwood Williams (deceased) and Alice Ewing Long. God healed her from her pain and called her home on Friday December 2, 2022.

She was a true woman of God and loved attending church. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Lucious Q. Smith. Before she fell sick, Janice was president of Homecoming and church anniversary, vice president of ushers, director of youth, financial worker, part of the kitchen committee and also the van driver.

Janice was educated in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Northeast High School, class of 1982.

She was employed with the Clarksville Montgomery County School System for 24 years. She had a passion for working with special needs children. She started out as an aid on the bus and made her way into the schools. When she fell sick, she was employed at Sango Elementary School in the CDC class with Mrs. Tammy Smith.  Janice was full of life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was very well known throughout Clarksville for her loving spirit. She would go out of her way for anyone. Any time you would see her, her granddaughter Leilani wasn’t too far away.  She made sure she lived her life to the fullest and she will always be remembered by that beautiful smile. She will be missed dearly but God has healed her and she is now resting peacefully.

She is preceded in death not only by her father, but also by her baby sister, Yovanda Long; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Rodriguez and brother-in-law, Henry Fletcher.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Ernest Fletcher; her mother, Alice E. Long; daughter, Chelsie Fletcher; bonus daughter, Markesha Lucas; stepdaughter, Tara (DeShaun) Fisk; stepson, Ernest Parker; goddaughter, Christina Scott; sisters, Lisa (Stephon) Frizell Sr., Jacqueline (Roland) Scott, Pennie Cephus, all of Clarksville, TN, Ella (Tyrone) Kidd of Stafford, VA; brother, Donald (Phyllis) Ewing; godsister, Avemaria Lisenbee-Parks; grandchildren, Leilani Richardson, Jaylah Traughber, Zakesha Wilson, Travon Fisk, De’Rantez “DJ” Fisk; nieces and nephews, many friends and a ton of “adopted” children throughout Clarksville.
