James Michael Solsbury, age 77, of Clarksville, TN passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. Jim fought a hard battle with complications from a brain tumor.
A Memorial Service will be held at Tylertown Baptist Church. Rev. Irvin Moses Wasswa will officiate. Jim will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan. The dates are to be announced.
Jim entered this life on July 28, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Jeane Janiga Solsbury. With a passion for ham radio, collecting tube radios, and restoring old classic cars, Jim had a keen eye for detail and a talent for bringing vintage pieces back to life. He was the manager at Cardinal Bus line Garage for several years. His expertise in electronics earned him the reputation of being an expert in the field, always ready to lend a helping hand. Beyond hobbies, Jim was a member of Tylertown Church, where his faith and kindness shone brightly. His presence in the congregation was a source of comfort and inspiration to many. In addition to his personal interests and community involvement, Jim also served his country with honor as an Army Vietnam Veteran.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Therese Solsbury; daughters, Jennifer Solsbury, Col. Melissa Solsbury, and her husband, Robert Gallagher; son, Andrew Solsbury, and wife, Christine. Jim had three siblings, Kathleen Solsbury, Kristine Curtis, and Robert Solsbury, and one granddaughter, Emma Jane.
