James “Hooksie” Williams, age 81, of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Henry Co. Medical Center in Paris, Tennessee.
Born April 18, 1942, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late George Earl Williams, Sr. and the late Josephine Smith Williams.
He retired after working for 30 years as a lineman and cable splicer for BellSouth in the Clarksville, Tennessee area. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era.
“Hooksie” had a passion for the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He had a great love for his family and especially being “Papa” to his granddaughter, Cara.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shela Williams of Bumpus Mills; a daughter, Carol Ann Williams (Michael Dutton) of Westford, Massachusetts; a son, Jeremy Bucciarelli (Kendra) of Big Rock, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Cara Bucciarelli; two brothers, Joseph E. Williams (Barb) of Clarksville, Tennessee and George E. Williams (Lyn) of Brisbane, Australia; and one sister, Jo Ann England (Norman) of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday, August 25, 2023.
A private graveside service will be held at the Burgess Cemetery in Christian County, Kentucky with the Pastor Freddy T. Wyatt, Jr. officiating.
