James E. Smith, age 81, of Baja, CA, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, at Signature Healthcare.
James was born September 27, 1934, in Woodland, CA, to the late Verne Smith and Mildred Taylor Smith. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Raeann L. Surrett; two brothers, Larry and Richard Smith; and sister, Janet Hartley.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
James was retired from Pacific Gas and Electric of Arroyo Grande, CA. He was formerly a resident of San Felipe, Baja, CA.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Raoma Nowlin Smith; two sons, Ronald J. Smith of Medford, OR and Donald A. (Teresa) Smith of Clarksville, TN; four brothers, Paul Smith, Fred Smith, David Smith, and Bill Smith; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Smith, Ryan Smith, Christina Smith, Kellie Smith, Raena Surrett, Randy Surrett, and Victor Surrett; and several great grandchildren.
