James A. Williams age 68 of Clarksville passed away on Friday October 9, 2015 at his residence.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted on Friday October 16, 2015 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Hopkinsville, KY at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Buddy Slaughter officiating.
He was born December 3, 1946 in Samson, Alabama and grew up in Florida.James served for over 20 years in the U.S. Army where he attained the rank of E7. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Following his service to the country he was employed for over 20 years at the commissary on post at Ft. Campbell until he retired in 2013.
He is survived by his wife Susanne G. Burkle Williams to whom he has been married for 36 years. He is also survived by a daughter Janet Curnow and husband Paul of Hopkinsville, KY; sons Jerry Lee Linscott of Belleview, IL; Scotty Williams of Raleigh, NC; and Donnie Williams of Raleigh, NC; several brothers and sisters and 4 grandchildren with one great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Williams and Ishmaearl Mardeth Williams.
