Mr. James A. Luffman, age 87, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Diversicare of Dover. He was born January 11, 1932, in Stewart County, Tennessee, son of the late Jim and Mary Anglin Luffman. Mr. Luffman was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and served his country in the US Army. He was retired from TVA and a retired Baptist minister. Mr. Luffman served several years with the Dover-Stewart County Rescue Squad.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Laverne Ross Luffman, children, Jeff Luffman, Karen Luffman, and Tim Luffman. Survivors include his son, Jimmy Luffman, Dover, grandson, Ethan Luffman (Taylor), Dover, and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Luffman, Dover.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, Dover, TN. Visitation will from 9:00 am until the time of service on Saturday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Donations may be made in Mr. Luffman’s memory to the Stewart County Fire Rescue, PO Box 420 Dover, TN 37058. Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN.
