CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Jacqueline Burton, an educational support professional with more than 20 years of experience, has announced her candidacy for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board, District 5.

After two decades of working directly in schools and supporting students, teachers and families, Burton said the decision to run for the board comes from a deep understanding of the district’s needs and a strong commitment to student success.

Burton has served on the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Association Executive Board, the Tennessee Education Association Board of Directors and the National Education Association Board of Directors.

“Our schools are the heart of our community,” she said. “For the past 20 years, I have worked alongside educators and students every day. I’ve seen the challenges we face and the incredible dedication of our staff. I’m running to help ensure our students and educators receive the support they deserve.

“Throughout my career as an educational support professional, I gained firsthand insight into classroom environments, student services, and the importance of collaboration between staff and families,” Burton said. “If elected, I plan to focus on academic excellence, supporting and retaining, diverse, quality educators and staff, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and promoting transparency in district decisions.”
