Jack Phil Huffman, age 89, of Cumberland Furnace, went to be with his Lord Monday, July 20, 2015, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born May 10, 1926, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late Howell Cook Huffman and Louise Thompson Huffman. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Sherron.

Mr. Huffman was retired, having worked at B.F. Goodrich, Gateway Medical Center, and he taught Computers and Business at Austin Peay State University. He attained his MBA from Middle Tennessee State University. Jack volunteered with several civic groups, including the Rotary Club and the American Red Cross. He was a US Navy veteran, a member of Rye’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and he loved playing golf.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Hargrove and Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating, and the Rye’s Chapel Quartet singing. Burial will follow at Rye’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. until Wednesday, July 22, and from noon until the hour of service on Thursday, July 23, at the funeral home.

Jack is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rebecca Wall Groves Huffman; daughter, Carol (Bob) Krueckeberg of Clarksville; son-in-law, Larry Sherron of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Abby Krueckeberg Murphy and R. Paul (Rebecca) Krueckeberg, III; and two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Krueckeberg and Clark Krueckeberg.

Pallbearers will be Paul Krueckeberg, Bob Krueckeberg, Lennie Wall, David Wall, Wayne Tidwell, Larry Sherron, Mike Huneycutt, and Andy Wall. Honorary pallbearers will be Carney Wright, Bill Fitzgerald, and members of the Clarksville Rotary Club.

The Huffman family would like to give special thanks to caregiver, Sandra Hollis and the wonderful staff of Aseracare Hospice for the exceptional care given to Jack Huffman.
