CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Local law enforcement agencies investigated what may have been a possible meth lab Thursday at the Clarksville Transit System’s center downtown.

A plastic bottle with a long tube attached was found by an employee in the bathroom around 11:39 a.m., according to MCSO Public Information Officer Sandra Brandon.

The bottle resembled what is known as a gas generator, an object used in the manufacture of meth.

The employee carried the object outside and placed it on top of a trashcan.

The Drug Task Force was then called to investigate the potential hazard.

Liquid inside the container was tested for meth-making materials and the test results showed that the liquid had a neutral pH balance and was a water-like substance, according to Brandon.

The bottle did not contain any meth-manufacturing components.

The center was temporarily shut down as a safety precaution but has since reopened.
