CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A man was arrested Saturday night after reportedly leaving four children alone in a vehicle.

According to a news release, police received a 911 complaint around 8 p.m. The caller said a man who was possibly intoxicated left the children in he car at 670 N Riverside Dr.

When officers arrived, they saw Andre Higgins stumbling out of a business. He was having difficulty standing, was very disoriented, and had bloodshot eyes.

The four children between the ages of 2 and 10 were found inside a 2014 Dodge Avenger in the parking lot.

Police determined Higgins had entered a business and taken several items without paying, but the store chose not to press charges. Higgins also had an outstanding warrant for criminal impersonation.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail for Public Intoxication, four counts of Contributing to Dependency and Neglect, and an outstanding warrant for Criminal Impersonation. His bond was set at $20,500.
