CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police arrested a man after he impersonated a police officer while intoxicated July 8. Scott McBride, 47, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Monday morning and charged with Criminal Impersonation and Possession of a Handgun While Under the Influence.
Officials report McBride went to an East Bel Air Blvd residence late Sunday evening and began banging on the door. He then announced he was a Montgomery County Deputy andmcb they were overstaying their eviction.
McBride has no association with and is not an employee of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
When officers located McBride, he had slurred speech, an odor of an intoxicating beverage, and was unsteady on his feet. Additionally, he had a handgun in his right pocket.
His bond was set at $5,000.
