Lavender Park Bridal, a boutique salon in Clarksville, is in the business of helping brides find their perfect gown. Owner Kayla Eaton understands that most brides want to look their best, and sometimes struggle with the cost of the gown.
“There are so many ways you can save on your dream dress,” she insists. “Our goal is to make sure you get the gown of your dreams AND it fits your budget.”
Know Peak Seasons
First, Eaton says peak bridal season is traditionally January through April. If you know you need to get your dress during this time frame, then you should plan ahead. At Lavender Park Bridal you can book an appointment online. Their appointments are all exclusive, which means you get all of the attention!
Order Early, Save More
The farther out you order, you can potentially save more. Eaton says that brides should plan to begin the buying process at least eight months out. Buy ordering your dress no less than six months out, you save the expense of rush shipping, or a popular design being unavailable.
Four to six months out dresses will come back into the store. Virtually every dress will need to have some sort of alteration, so factor this in to your final choice. Whether it is hemming or taking it in, you want to make sure your dress fits the right way. All wedding gowns are ordered in a size based on your biggest measurement.
At Lavender Park Bridal, alterations are offered in house. Fitting appointments are available on Wednesdays and Fridays. You can schedule the fitting appointment when you come to pick up your gown. Eaton suggests planning ahead and scheduling your alterations two months to six weeks out from your wedding day.
The months before your wedding are stressful. “Drastic body changes can happen in the time it takes your dress to arrive from the designer,” says Eaton. “In order to save the most amount of money on alteration costs scheduling 6 weeks from your wedding date will ensure you don’t have to have your gown taken in or let out again which can save you some money!”

Have an Idea, But Stay Open Minded
It’s always fun to look through wedding magazines and gush over the beautiful gowns. When searching for your perfect dress, know that not every dress is made equal! While you may love a gown in the picture, it looks entirely different on you.
At Lavender Park Bridal, they believe in quality over quantity. So they find the latest styles, timeless pieces, and quality designers that are known for their work. “Don’t be fooled by a room ‘packed full of stuff’,” says Eaton.
