CLARKSVILLE, TN – The CMC Education Foundation is pleased to announce the inaugural Dash to Benefit 5K will take place on May 20, starting in McGregor Park at 8:30 am. This family-friendly event includes activities for all ages.
Presented by CDE Lightband, this new, community-supported event runs a similar course to the City of Clarksville’s annual Christmas Lights Run. Race registration is open through April 24 for $25 and will increase to $35 per entry from April 25 to May 8. There will be no race day registration, and runners are encouraged to sign up early to guarantee a spot. Race registration includes a dri-fit race t-shirt. It will be a timed race with prizes for the top three finishers in the male under 18, male over 18, female under 18, and female over 18 categories.
An untimed fun run will begin at 9 a.m. that morning and run solely through McGregor Park. The park will be blocked off, and no cars will be allowed to ensure the safety of the fun run participants. The fun run is $15 and includes a race t-shirt. Paid participants of the 5k can accompany children who have paid to participate in the Fun Run for no additional fee. All ages are welcome to register for the Fun Run. Registration is available through Active by visiting www.bit.ly/D2B2023.
Also on site that morning will be health and wellness vendors from the community, including NutriShop, Tammy’s Fitness Lab, Café 931, and Ground Zen Massage, as well as other food and drinks sponsored by local businesses.
