CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Hundreds of folks came out Saturday to enjoy some down-home, homemade ice cream, at the 7th annual “I Scream for F.U.E.L., Ice Cream Freeze-Off” at Salem United Methodist Church. The event is a fundraiser for the F.U.E.L. program that provides non-perishable, easy to prepare food items for children in Montgomery County Schools.

For many children, the breakfast and lunch they get at school are their primary meals each day. The food items purchased with donated funds from events like I Scream for F.U.E.L. help to supplement them over the weekends. Schools that will benefit from the event include Montgomery Central Elementary. Cumberland Heights Elementary and Montgomery Central Middle.

The other United Methodist Churches that were part of the event include Mt. Zion, Antioch, Marion, along with Lone Oak and Memorial Baptist Churches. To learn more about the work of F.U.E.L. in the Clarksville-Montgomery County community, visit www.fuelforkids.org
