CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The closer Hurricane Delta gets to the Gulf Coast, the worse the weekend forecast looks for Clarksville.
Delta is likely to make landfall Friday in Louisiana with a life-threatening storm surge of 7 to 11 feet and hurricane-force winds, according to an alert from the National Hurricane Center.
As the storm moves inland, it’s projected to go northeast, directly toward Middle Tennessee. The storm’s center should reach Clarksville Sunday morning, but the effects will start as early as Friday night, with an expected 2 to 3 inches of rain through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Nashville.
