Since the TNR program started in 2019, the Humane Society’s low-cost spay neuter clinic has fixed, vaccinated and provided medical care to nearly 2,000 homeless cats living in Clarksville-Montgomery County.
The program prevents thousands of cats from being born and costs the Humane Society an average of $14,000 per year. Fundraising vents like Meows and Martinis, and support from the community, is critical to the success and continuation of the program.
Meows and Martinis was a sold out event that featured a dinner, music with a DJ and singer songwriter Elya Vasiliev, a silent auction, door prizes and adoptable kittens from local rescue partners. The event was almost three years in the making having first been scheduled in 2020, and again in 2021, and cancelled both time over concerns of COVID-19.
