How Clarksville-area high schools are affected by TSSAA reclassifications for 2025-2027

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – TSSAA has announced the classifications, districts and regions for the 2025-2027 cycle of high school sports. There are a few notable changes in the Clarksville area, which include four schools dropping to 5A in football, district changes for other sports, and Chapel Hill Christian Academy‘s first district assignment.

Football is separate from the other sports, as they have several more classes, and have regions instead of districts. Let’s take a look at the assignments for football, highlighted by Kirkwood, Northwest, Northeast and Kenwood all dropping down to 5A.

Class 4A Region 5

• Montgomery Central High School (Cunningham, TN)
• Battle Creek High School (Spring Hill, TN)
• Creek Wood High School (Charlotte, TN)
• Marshall Co. High School (Lewisburg, TN)
• Spring Hill High School (Columbia, TN)

Shaking things up

As for all of the other sports, there is a slight shake-up in a few districts. Montgomery Central adds one high school to their district, while Springfield High leaves District 13-4A, making it a four-team district. Chapell Hill Christian Academy, based out of Clarksville, Tennessee, is set to compete in high school sports for their first ever season. They’ll join the likes of Clarksville Academy in division-II class A.
