Update, 1:30 p.m. Wednesday: Firefighters arrived to find the garage fully engulfed in flames, along with a vehicle next to the garage, Baggett said.
“By the end of the night the home was a total loss. Once the fire spread and got into the attic, there wasn’t much stopping it or controlling it,” he said.
The fire has displaced a family of seven people.
Update, 11 a.m. Wednesday: Neighbor Nida Augustine has set up a GoFundMe at this link to help the family.
Update, 10:18 p.m.: “It appears to be a total loss,” Montgomery County Emergency Medical Agency Director Ed Baggett told Clarksville Now. “It’s my understanding several people lived in the residence.
“The fire has been extinguished, and we’ll be on the scene for some time cleaning up,” Baggett said.
Update, 9:25 p.m.: No one was injured in the fire, which appears to have started in the garage.
Clarksville Fire Rescue and Montgomery County Fire Service responded.
