WOODLAWN, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A house was destroyed in a fire overnight in west Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service Station 19 (Woodlawn) initially responded to a the fire at 10:26 p.m. at 2225 Dunbar Road. Firefighters were called back to the scene at 2:53 a.m. after the blaze flared back up.
“The house had two roofs, it had a double roof on the back portion of the house. We think there was probably some fire up in there we couldn’t get to and we couldn’t see, and it rekindled, so we called back out,” Montgomery County Fire Chief Ed Baggett said.
Baggett said there were no injuries, and no one was in the house at the time of the fire because the man who lived in the house had been taken to the hospital Thursday morning. Baggett added the house was a total loss, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Clarksville Fire Rescue and Fort Campbell Fire Department also responded to the fire.
