MIDDLE TENN. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee will adjust the business hours at its 36 retail stores beginning Monday, Aug. 8.
New store hours will be 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Saturday hours, which are 8 a.m.-8 p.m., will not change.
“We are returning to a schedule similar to the one we had prior to April of 2015,” said Goodwill’s Senior Director of Retail Chris Burr. “After trying slightly expanded hours for a year, we have found that the original schedule — which was built around peak shopping demand — provides the best use of our resources to serve customers and the best life-work balance for our employees.”
He added that the new Sunday hours will give many employees the freedom to attend traditional church services.
Hours for Donation Express Centers at retail stores will also change. Those hours will now be 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and noon-6 p.m. on Sunday. Hours at donation sites not adjacent to stores will not change.
The sale of donated items in Goodwill’s stores funds the not-for-profit’s mission of changing lives through education, training and employment.
