CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The weekend will continue the trend of hot temperatures and dry conditions. The potential for rain comes in overnight Sunday, only bringing down the temperatures slightly on Monday.

This year has been the driest September on record and the Nashville area is nearing the record for most 90 degree days in the month as well, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has provided the following extended forecast.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. South wind around 10 mph.
Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. South southeast wind around 5 mph.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. South wind around 5 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming north in the morning.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.
