CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville police officers responded to an unusual call involving a horse-drawn buggy Thursday morning.

Around 8 a.m. a woman was driving the buggy down Suiter Rd. when her horse got spooked and began running wildly. The woman was able to jump out of the buggy and landed on the roadway as the horse continued running out of sight with the buggy still attached.

A man who saw the incident stopped and picked up the woman so they could find the buggy. As the horse was running down the road, the buggy hit and knocked over four mailboxes, causing it to flip and collide with a parked car. After the collision the horse was freed and kept running until it was found unharmed on Tylertown Rd.

The horse was recovered and taken into custody by the owner.
