Update, 8:45 a.m.: The owner has been located, and the horse was released into the owner’s custody without incident.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A riderless horse was found running toward Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville Friday morning, and police are trying to locate the owner.
At about 6 a.m., the horse was detained in the Dunlop Lane area on Alexander Drive, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. The horse was taken in custody and is being held at a secure location.
“The horse is in good health and well-nourished but misses his family,” Beaubien said.
Anyone with information on the owners is asked to call 911.
