KIRKMANSVILLE, Ky. – A Hopkinsville woman was charged with several drug and traffic-related offenses after being stopped by Kentucky State Police Jan 27.
According to a news release, Trooper Curtis Crick conducted a traffic stop on KY 171 in Kirkmansville around 4 p.m. on a vehicle operated by Teresa E. Hayes, 46, of Hopkinsville.
During the stop, Trooper Crick determined Hayes was impaired took her into custody.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit responded to the scene and a search of the vehicle revealed pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Hayes was transported to the Todd County Detention Center and a bag of suspected methamphetamine was found on her person during booking.
Hayes was charged with the following offenses:
1) Speeding 18 MPH Over the Limit
2) Careless Driving
3) DUI 1st Offense
4) Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation
5) Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense – Meth
6) Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
7) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
8) Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container 1st Offense
9) Possession of Marijuana
10) Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
11) Promoting Contraband 1st Degree
